I am a fourth year Information Science undergraduate student at University of Maryland, pursuing a minor in Sustainability Studies. Over the past few years I have gained experience in a variety of areas, including database modeling, object-oriented programming, information organization, user experience and web development.

Database Modeling

Created a database of endangered species

  • Designed a normalized entity relationship diagram (ERD)
  • Forward engineered ERD
  • Pulled data from Google Sheets into MySQL database
  • Wrote queries to gather insights, such as "most common category of endagered species in each region"

  • Applied Double Diamond design process model
  • Contextual Inquiry: conducted interviews and distributed surveys to understand users' needs and requirements
  • Contextual Analysis: constructed work activity affinity diagram and work domain diagram
  • Design Thinking: created multiple personas to represent target users
  • Ideation: created sketches, storyboards and low-fidelity wireframes

Recommendation reports based on statistical findings

  • Worked with multiple large datasets, including the General Social Survey (GSS)
  • Imported packages/libraries in order to recode variables and simplify the analysis process
  • Created graphs (scatterplots, boxplots, linear regression plot, etc.) to visualize and interpret findings
  • Wrote memo-style papers addressed to key decision-makers to support recommendation to take or not take a course of action
